12 year old develops iPhone game..helps Breast Cancer Research
Last year 12 year old Brooklyn, was bored with the games she was playing on her father’s iPhone so her father challenged her to come up with a better game. She dreamed up the concept of a game where you could design your own giggling animal friend and then play with it online..she developed drawings and tested her ideas on her friends and finally Giggle Bear was born. This is Brooklyn’s story.
Brooklyn’s father a Fort Wayne, Indiana physician was so impressed with Brooklyn’s work he decided to back the project. So, with the help of Agile Poet, LLC, an Austin, Texas-based interactive developer Giggle Bear went into production last September. The result is the fun game you see in this video.
During the development process Brooklyn’s mother Marsha was diagnosed with breast cancer so it was decided to donate money for every download of the game towards breast cancer research. Once the game hits 500,000 downloads The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer® will recieve a total of $50,000. Not a bad feat for a now 13 year old entrepreneur.
