Oscars Fan? There are apps for that

Oscar night is only a few days away so, it is no surprise that there are quite a few apps to be found dealing with the awards. They offer a variety of features so I picked a few of the best ones.

If you want just the basics,  Oscars Guide from Redwind Software allows you to search back to the 1920s by category or year.

Vanity Fair Hollywood Oscars Edition is a huge app that allows you to review all the nominees, watch the trailers, make your picks, and then keep score the night of the big event. You can also connect with Facebook to see how your friends are voting and how your predictions stand up. You can also look at pictures from the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscars Party.

Finally there is Awards Hero: Oscars Edition for iPhone but it scales fine on the iPad. This app from AppEzzy lets you scan the nominees..watch trailers and vote for your favourites. You can also join pools on Facebook to pit your prediction skills against your friends’ There is also a database of past winners. Perfect if you are going to be on the road Oscar Night.

Oscars Guide is free at the Apple App Store, Vanity Fair is $0.99 at the Apple App Store and Awards Hero is also 99 cents at the Apple App Store.
