A cool bag for MacBook Air 11…from Tom Bihn of course

Regulars who saw my MacBook Air 11 review earlier this week will not be surprised to see I have a Tom Bihn bag for it. I opted for the Ristretto for 11″ MacBook Air..which is just a tad bigger than the one I use for my fits the MBA like a glove.

The Ristretto is a cool looking vertical messenger bag..very stylish but much more than just a pretty face. The exterior is  durable 1050d high tenacity nylon… The interior is lined with 200 denier Japanese Dyneema®/nylon ultralight ripstop fabric in a contrasting colour which adds to the cool look of the bag.

Under the Asymmetric flap  the padded compartment for your MBA 11 is made of .25″ / 6mm thick foam padding laminated between Black 4-ply Taslan and brushed tricot. The back is padded with  1/4″ closed-cell foam. There is a front pocket with a #8 YKK Aquaguard® water-repellent has pockets for pens, business cards and all those little things you tend to carry with a notebook..power supply, mouse even an Airport Express for those hotel rooms with wired ethernet instead of WiFi.

The Standard Shoulder Strap is included in the price of the Ristretto. A 1-1/2″ wide heavy-nylon-webbing strap, it features a comfortable, wide foam pad that won’t slip off your shoulder and is designed to conform to your shoulder and back. For an extra $20.00, you can switch out the Standard Strap for the Absolute Shoulder Strap which is specially designed for the ultimate in comfort especially with heavy loads.

Now you would expect a bag this tough to weigh a ton..think again my Ristretto tips the scale at a svelte  1 lb. 5 oz / 595 grams so you aren’t adding much weight for a super stylish and durable bag.  It is hand made in Seattle..take a look at the factory.

You won’t be sorry if you buy this bag..or any Tom Bihn bag for that matter..check out the web site..there are dozens of models for just about anything you would want to carry…my year old Ristretto for the iPad has taken a lot of abuse and still looks brand new.  The Ristretto is available for iPad, MacBook Air 11′ and 13″ notebooks nicely priced for such a luxury bag at $135. Shipping charges are a reasonable $10 for UPS Ground in the US and $30 for UPS International Expedited Flat Rate to Canada which includes brokerage as well as GST/HST/PST so there are no surprises when it arrives at the door.
