BlackBerry PlayBook on sale! As low as $299 $249

A selloff of RIM’s poorly selling BlackBerry PlayBook has been rumoured for weeks..last week Rogers and Telus dropped the employee price of the 16Gb model to $299 but left the retail price unchanged. Well now you can get in on the action at Future Shop and BestBuy. The advertised selling price at the online store  for the 16Gb Playbook is $399..but if you move to the next step by clicking the Buy Now or the Add To Cart button you will see another $100 knocked off the price.

The current flyer shows the price as $499 with a $100 gift card so, I presume you have to ask for the additional discount at the store. Plus, if you need a printer at the same time you get another $50 off. That’s net $249 for a Blackberry Playbook..not bad.

The potential discount at BestBuy is even higher because the printer deal is any printer for $29.99 if purchased with the PlayBook. The discounts also apply to the 32 and 64Gb models as well. Since most major chains offer price-matching this means you should be able to score a PlayBook for $200 off pretty much anywhere.

UPDATE: September 23, 2011 14:30- Mobile Syrup reports some WalMart stores are selling the 16Gb version at half price..a cool $249..worth looking investigating if you are in the market for a BlackBerry BlayBook.
