Move over Angry Birds…Here comes Bad Piggies
Bad Piggies, the latest from the geniuses at Rovio took only four hours to fly to the top spot in the iOS App Store. It lest Angry Birds fans see things from the Pins’ point of view as they continue to go after the eggs.
Instead of shooting Angry Birds at constructions of the Pigs in an attempt to destroy them, In Bad Piggies you need to construct vehicles to get the Pigs through the map level. Petri Järvilehto, Rovio’s executive vice president of games, had this to say: “We’ve never done anything like this. Where Angry Birds was all about destruction, Bad Piggies is all about the joy of construction. It’s not just about getting three stars — in this game, failing is almost as much fun as succeeding!” Think of it as Wile E. Coyote makes Angry Birds, or perhaps Rube Goldberg.
Järvilehto added: “It’s an entirely new, completely unique game play experience. We’ve approached game play this time around from a very different angle. Angry Birds games are essentially like you’re shooting birds with a sling shot and the way we see the birds destroy things whereas the pigs they are the builders. So this is a game that’s completely based around the concept of the pigs building things – they see delicious eggs and start heading that way and start building all kinds of devices to reach their goal,” he said. He said they could not live on the success of Angry Birds and that it was imperative to have a good game in order to be successful.
Bad Piggies is $0.99 for iOS, it is a free ad supported download for Android as is is a HD version for tablets. The OS X version is $4.99 at the Mac App Store and the Windows PC version is $4.95 but Rovio insists that you must try the free demo version first
What do you think? Will Bad Piggies be as succesful as Angry Birds?
