My Ford Touch upgrade…on the way

Ford set the standard for cabin technology in 2007 with its SYNC system that allowed Ford and Lincoln owners to control their Bluetooth equipped phones and MP3 players with simple voice commands. It raised the bar in 2010  with My Ford Touch and My Lincoln Touch..we’ll call it My Ford Touch here for simplicity. This new system added steering wheel controls, an 8″ touch screen and thousands of new voice set out to control just about everything. That led to complexity and an often cluttered screen that put off some users.  After two years of listening to customers Ford has started to ship an upgrade that cleans up and simplifies the interface with a bolder font and  reduces the three home screens to one…The shortcuts screen and dedicated wallpaper screens are gone and the wallpaper is incorporated into the primary Home Screen.

The presentations is easier to read and more responsive..less than half a second from button press to action. As well, there is a huge improvement in voice command performance.

That same kind of simplicity has carried over to the navigation system..destination entry is much simplified and you can even use commands like “I’m hungry” to look for restaurants and the maps are easier to read and more informative.

If you are a Ford or Lincoln owner you will want to install this upgrade as soon as you can. You have two choices…you can take the kit to your dealer where the visit will be no charge or, you can do it yourself..instructions are included with the kit and the upgrade is simple and idiot proof.

Finally all that is left to be done is to remove the old SD card and replace it with the one that comes with your kit to install the upgraded maps for the navigation system and enjoy your new My Ford Touch system. Now, if you are looking to earn more salary and to enjoy more of the new technologies, upgrading your job would be a good idea.
