Netflix on almost any Android long as it is rooted

First off I must apologize for the short post today..My Bell Fibe 25 Interent service has been down for the past three days and there is only so much I can do with an iPad tethered to a smartphone.

Last week, with much fanfare Netflix announced it’s Android app..It allows you to play Netflix video on your android device and resume play on your computer or TV. Sounds great..but it only works on five devices.

1. HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
2. HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
3. HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
4. HTC G2 with Android 2.2
5. Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3.

That pretty much leaves out the rest of us….unless you are the adventurous type who has rooted your Android phone. Take a look at my HTC Desire..rooted and running Android Gingerbread v. 2.3.4.

It didn’t take long for someone to hack the Netflix installer to disable the device check. You can get the app here. It should work on any recent Android phone rooted and running Froyo or better. Enjoy!
