Press Reader now available for BB10

bb_webMy favourite newspaper and magazine reader is now available for BlackBerry 10 devices. It is a free download at BlackBerry World.

downloadUp front let me say I am totally hooked on eReading..I rarely buy paper books or magazines any more..I own a Kobo Touch eReader and an iPad 2  so I can read pretty much everywhere…with one huge exception. I still subscribe to the paper edition of my morning newspaper. Sure, there are electronic versions but I have found all of them strangely unsatisfying…until I found PressReader. With PressReader, you can hold the digital edition of your favorite publication in your hands and read it from cover to cover, just the way the title was printed — with no compromises in quality, fidelity or content.

This is not to say Press Reader is stuck in the past..This versatile app takes advantage of the display devices..all the stories are hyperlinked so you can switch from the newspaper view to individual articles..You can also scan the pages in newspaper or page format via a ribbon at the bottom of the page..or search all of the papers for a specific topic.

2All in all PressReader is one of those special apps that somehow manages to maintain tradition while taking advantages of the features of modern electronic devices. Not only can you search, share and discuss articles from thousands of titles, the publications you access via PressReader are enhanced with interactive features such as clickable URLs, telephone numbers, email addresses and “continued on page…” links. It is my number one choice for a news reader.

PressReader is a free download for Android, iPhone and iPad, Blackberry 10 and  Windows Phone. There are 2 subscription plans..$0.99 per download with a pay-as-you-go for casual readers or a full subscription for $29.95 per month with access to over 2,300 full-content newspapers from 100+ countries in 55+ languages. If you already subscribe to the electronic edition of your local paper it will almost certainly be available for free on Press Reader
