Top educational apps on sale or free…Today only…to celebrate Halloween

The APPy Halloween event is hosted by Technology in (Spl) Education which is a website designed to collect and share tools, hardware and applications available for the enhancement of technology in education with emphasis in Special education.

For this  special event over 37 Holiday themed and top apps including Penelope the Purple Pirate, Cinderella, The Legend of Spookley The Square Pumpkin and  Pirate Scribblebeard’s Treasure with Oscar & Josephine, will go on sale or be offered free for the APPY Halloween Facebook Event. Many of the apps participating are Award-Winning, Highly Reviewed Apps. Penelope the Purple Pirate has been chosen as Top 10 Educational iPad App by Digital Storytime, Smart Apps for Kids says “Bottom Line: the cream of the crop of iPad drawing apps,” about Pirate Scribblebeard’s Treasure with Oscar & Josephine; USA Today calls Cinderella “10 Coolest Books Apps for Fall,” and The Legend of Spookley The Square Pumpkin has received top reviews.

Coincidentally this event follows a CBS 60 Minutes segment “Apps for Autism: Communicating on the iPad”.  aired yesterday October 23rd. This powerful Leslie Stahl report is must viewing for those interested in the educational possibilities presented by Tablets, especially for children with special needs.
