Many of the apps participating are Award-Winning, Highly Reviewed Apps. Penelope the Purple Pirate has been chosen as Top 10 Educational iPad App by Digital Storytime, Smart Apps for Kids says “Bottom Line: the cream of the crop of iPad drawing apps,” about Pirate Scribblebeard’s Treasure with Oscar & Josephine; USA Today calls Cinderella “10 Coolest Books Apps for Fall,” and The Legend of Spookley The Square Pumpkin has received top reviews.

You can join the fun at the Technology in (Spl) Education Facebook Page or for the list of participating app developers at the Web Site.

Coincidentally this event follows a CBS 60 Minutes segment “Apps for Autism: Communicating on the iPad”.  aired yesterday October 23rd. This powerful Leslie Stahl report is must viewing for those interested in the educational possibilities presented by Tablets, especially for children with special needs.
