Windows 8 Consumer Preview available for download

Windows 8 Consumer PreviewIf you have been waiting to get your hands on the latest version of Windows…now is the time. Earlier today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain Steven Sinofsky, President of Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft, talks about how Windows has been reimagined with Windows 8 as he announced the availability of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.

You will recall when the Developers Preview was launched I talked about how working with a keyboard and mouse on this new operating system was not the best experience. Well, Antoine Leblond, Corporate Vice President, Windows Web Services, says the mouse and keyboard experience with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview is a considerable improvement over the previous release.

Download Windows 8 Consumer PreviewI am downloading the Preview as I write this and will have a complete report on it next week. By offering a general release Microsoft is implying this release is solid enough to use on your home computer. Well, give me a few days and I will let you know what I think. Feel free to offer your thoughts in the comment section below.
